Sponsor a Child
Rasamaya® Teacher Trainees and Rasamaya® affiliated studios have decided to sponsor a child at Bal Ashram in India. Bal Ashram is an orphanage that takes in children who are living in poverty in Varanasi who have lost either one or both parents. They receive housing health care, education, food, and happiness. Just $500 will pay to educate a child for an entire year.
The more that we can generate the more that we can help. The boy pictured at the right is Soham, we receive regular updates from the orphanage on how he is doing and occasionally some fantastic hand drawn pictures. Should you be going to India you are welcome to go visit the orphanage, as well as volunteer there. We hope to organize a trip to Varanasi to volunteer for several weeks in 2011. Bal Ashram is run by one of Carrie's spiritual teachers, Baba Harihar Ramji of Sonoma Ashram in California and the orphanage was started by his Guru Aghoreshwar Baba Bhagwan Ramji. Project Shakti
This is a new project at Bal Ashram in Varanasi, India that Rasamaya® is trying to help get off the ground. This project will bring women out of crisis situations and into a supportive environment with vocational training to help them become independent. Previously abandoned babies will also be cared for in this home, and be given a new chance in life. Consider donating to help us get this special project off the ground.
